ROOM 412 is an artist-run gallery and project space located in the Phoenix Lofts in downtown Birmingham, Alabama. Founded and operated by Chandler Jones, the space opened in March 2022 and is available for visitors by appointment. Conceived within a loft apartment, it offers an intimate, immersive environment where exhibitions unfold somewhere between a traditional gallery and a lived-in experience, inviting close and personal engagement with contemporary art.

The program centers on artists whose work resonates and engages with the visual and cultural landscape of Alabama. With an emphasis on place, lineage, and spirituality, ROOM 412 draws from the legacy of artists such as Mose Tolliver, Thornton Dial, Lonnie Holley, and the Gee’s Bend Quilters, while supporting a newer generation shaping the region’s creative voice. The gallery presents three to four exhibitions each year, with openings that function as gatherings and closings that feature artist talks, encouraging deeper conversation and connection.
